Recently, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced the fate of Bears Ears, Grand Staircase-Escalante and 19 other National Monuments. An attack on one monument is an attack on all our public lands and water.
It is both unacceptable and alarming that the Trump Administration is willing to protect Confederate monuments but reduce access to national monuments and parks that protect Native American sacred ground, preserve areas of scientific value, and drive local economies with opportunities for recreation and tourism.
Zinke, under Trump’s request, reviewed the status of 21 national monuments so they can be opened up for oil and gas drilling.
We can’t let Trump give our public lands and waters to the fossil fuel industry. Tell the Department of the Interior: Defend our national monuments.
