NextGen America has selected 41 youth-dense precincts across the country to monitor over the course of Election Day. More than 50% of all registered voters in each of these “Youth Vote Indicator Precincts” are between the ages of 18 to 35*. Turnout in these precincts will allow us to gauge young voter enthusiasm.

This table reflects a combination of early votes, absentee votes, and Election Day ballots cast. For questions, please contact

*We do not have reliable age data for NH and WI, so we’ve picked precincts that are either entirely campus precincts or are precincts with big youth populations based on on-the-ground information.

Methodology: To get the number of raw votes in each precinct, NextGen America is gathering all the early vote and absentee ballots cast through state and county-level updates provided to our data vendor, TargetSmart. Furthermore, on Election Day, we will have a team of volunteers gathering vote tallies from polling places in each of the precincts listed above. We will update all precincts with official precinct vote tallies when official results are certified.

In order to determine turnout percent for 2014, we used the total ballots cast in a precinct as a percentage of all registered voters on the voter file at that time. 2014 precinct level election results are available here.
