Far too many lives have been lost to gun violence in the United States. It’s time for Congress to finally act.

Every person in America deserves to feel safe in their classrooms, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Republican politicians are completely beholden to the gun lobby and have proven time and time again that they value the National Rifle Association more than our futures.

Members of Congress must listen to survivors from Orlando to Sandy Hook, Parkland to Las Vegas, Uvalde to Buffalo, and all who have led the way to stop mass shootings, hate crimes, and gun homicides.

Congress must take action to:

• Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines
• Close background check loopholes on all gun sales
• Keep firearms out of dangerous hands
• Direct the IRS to probe the NRA’s non-profit status
• Fund resources for community-based violence intervention programs

Urge Congress to pass gun safety legislation to prevent more senseless tragedies.
