Effective Date: June 10, 2026
NextGen Climate Action (dba NextGen America) (“NextGen,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) are committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with our websites, digital tools, programs, events, voter education activities, civic engagement campaigns, communications, AI-assisted tools, forms, surveys, text messaging programs, partner integrations, and other services that link to or reference this Privacy Policy.
By accessing or using our services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our services.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected online or offline by NextGen through our websites, tools, programs, forms, communications, events, and other services.
In this Privacy Policy, “you” means any individual who visits our websites, uses our tools, communicates with us, participates in our programs, attends events, signs up for updates, completes forms or surveys, receives text messages, or otherwise interacts with us.
This Privacy Policy applies only to NextGen and the services, websites, and tools that link to or reference it. Third-party websites, applications, and platforms operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may collect information in several ways: directly from you, automatically through your use of our services, from partner organizations and service providers, and from public or other third-party sources where permitted.
To the extent permitted under applicable law, we may collect information you choose to provide, including:
Some voter-registration tools or services may request contact information, such as your name, address, telephone number, or email address (“Contact Data”). Where specifically requested for the applicable tool, form, or service, we may also collect state driver’s license numbers, state-issued identification numbers, or Social Security numbers (“Sensitive Data”).
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, full dates of birth, financial account information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information unless we specifically request it through a particular tool, form, or program and provide an appropriate collection notice.
When you use our websites or digital tools, we may automatically collect certain information, including:
Where permitted, we may receive, use, and publish information from partner organizations, service providers, analytics providers, public records, voter-registration records, voter-file data, voter-participation records, social platforms, and other third-party sources. Our use and disclosure of data from third parties and public sources is not subject to any restrictions under this Privacy Policy, and we may, in our sole discretion, use and disclose such information for any purpose, without limitation, as allowed by law.
We may also aggregate or de-identify information we collect from you so that it is no longer linked to you or your computer or device, or we may collect information that is already in de-identified form. Our use and disclosure of aggregated or de-identified information is not subject to any restrictions under this Privacy Policy, and we may, in our sole discretion, use and disclose such information for any purpose, without limitation.
We may use information we collect to:
Where permitted by applicable law, applicable data-source restrictions, and our agreements, we may compare information you provide or that we collect through our programs with voter-registration records, voter-file data, voter-participation records, public records, or other data sources to evaluate program effectiveness, understand whether our programs help people register, obtain voting information, participate in elections, or engage in civic activity, and improve future programs.
We do not use personal information for commercial resale.
We do not sell personal information.
We may disclose any information as described in this Privacy Policy (including information not directly governed by this Privacy Policy such as aggregated and de-identified information), including to:
Some NextGen programs, tools, forms, or voter-registration services may be provided through, integrated with, or supported by Rock the Vote, Inc. (“RTV”) or similar voter-registration technology partners. If you use an RTV-supported tool, form, or service, we may share User Data with RTV in connection with providing that tool or service.
For RTV-supported tools, “Contact Data” means contact information of users of the RTV tools, including but not limited to names, addresses, telephone numbers, and/or email addresses. “Sensitive Data” means state drivers’ license numbers, state-issued identification numbers of any kind, and/or Social Security numbers of users. “User Data” means (a) Contact Data and (b) Sensitive Data, collectively.
We may collect Contact Data directly from you when you complete forms, use tools, request information, sign up for programs, seek voter-registration-related services, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with an RTV-supported tool or related program. We may use Contact Data to provide the requested tool or service, communicate with you, support voter-registration-related activities, evaluate and improve our programs, conduct analytics, compare information with voter-registration or voter-participation records where permitted, and carry out the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We may disclose Contact Data to RTV and to the other categories of recipients described in this Privacy Policy. Where specifically requested through the applicable RTV-supported tool or form, we may also disclose Sensitive Data to RTV and to service providers or other recipients as needed to provide, support, process, secure, or maintain the applicable tool or service, comply with legal or contractual obligations, or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.
NextGen’s collection, use, and disclosure of Contact Data is independent of RTV’s collection, use, and disclosure of such Contact Data. RTV may process information it receives under its own privacy policy, terms, contractual obligations, and applicable law.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties.
Some NextGen tools or programs may use AI-assisted technology, chat interfaces, automation, analytics tools, hosting providers, communications vendors, or other service providers. Information you submit to those tools may be transmitted to and processed by our service providers on our behalf to operate, secure, support, evaluate, and improve the relevant program or service.
Some tools may rely on third-party AI providers. For example, VOTE-E is built using the Anthropic Claude API, and user inputs are processed by Anthropic’s servers.
We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for their own independent purposes except as permitted by our agreements with them or applicable law.
If you submit messages, comments, survey responses, feedback, testimonials, chat prompts, chat responses, or other content to us, we may use that content to operate, evaluate, improve, report on, and communicate about our programs.
We may use, reproduce, edit, excerpt, aggregate, de-identify, anonymize, and publish portions of user content for nonprofit program evaluation, reporting, research, communications, fundraising, public education, and similar mission-related purposes.
We will not intentionally publish your name, contact information, precise address, full date of birth, government identification numbers, or other direct identifiers in connection with a quoted excerpt without your permission.
We use reasonable review measures designed to reduce the likelihood that published excerpts identify a person, including removing or generalizing direct identifiers and highly specific contextual details. De-identification and anonymization reduce identification risk but cannot eliminate all risk, particularly if content includes unique, sensitive, or highly specific facts.
If you believe a published excerpt identifies you or another person, you may contact us using the information below. We may review the request and, where appropriate, remove, redact, modify, or de-index the excerpt.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information in our possession. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Any transmission of information to us is at your own risk.
Our services may contain links to third-party websites or services. When you visit a third-party site, you are subject to that third party’s privacy policy and terms, not ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service provider from whom you request services.
Some programs, tools, events, or services may have additional terms, notices, consent language, or disclosures. Those additional terms apply to the specific program, tool, event, or service where they are presented. If there is a conflict between this Privacy Policy and a specific program notice, the more specific notice will apply to that program to the extent of the conflict.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version here and update the Effective Date above. Your continued use of our services after an update becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
