Kamala Harris Stands Strong in First Debate, Offering a Bold Vision for Young America’s Future

In response to the second presidential debate of the 2024 election, NextGen PAC President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez issued the following statement:

“Tonight, we saw two markedly different visions for our future. Vice President Kamala Harris defined herself as the only candidate with a plan to strengthen the middle class, restore abortion rights, and champion the values and interests of young people. Kamala Harris delivered a powerful and hopeful vision for our country, one that invests in the aspirations and dreams of all Americans. Her plan prioritizes working class people over billionaires, climate justice over corporate greed, and the protection of rights and freedoms over rolling them back.

“Meanwhile, Trump spent ninety minutes spewing disinformation wrapped in hateful and racist rhetoric. Despite his denials, his Project 2025—a plan crafted by his former staffers—clearly outlines a blueprint to inflate costs for Americans while eroding fundamental rights to benefit the ultra-wealthy and the powerful. It’s a vision that threatens to undo the progress we’ve made and deepen inequality.

“Young people deserve elected leaders who advocate for their needs and heed their calls for change, not showmen more dedicated to political theater than practical policy. Data has shown us time and time again that issues are the primary motivator for young people across the country. This year, young voters are defining the election and will show up and vote to build the future we believe in.”
