In response to Donald Trump being sworn-in as the 47th President of the United States, NextGen America President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:
“As the wealthiest presidential administration in history takes power today, young people remain determined to fight for a future that respects us, reflects us, and represents us – not just the wealthy and well connected. Donald Trump’s oligarchy is not fighting for working people, and NextGen America and the young people we represent are committed to holding this administration accountable for their lies and self-serving agenda.
“The road ahead will be challenging, but our collective power is stronger than any single administration. NextGen America stands in solidarity and community with our partners as we will continue to educate, organize, and advocate for a progressive future. Throughout history, young people have always led the movement for change, and the next four years will be no different. Whether it’s fighting for economic justice, protecting immigrants, stopping corporate greed, defending our personal freedoms, or tackling the climate crisis, young people remain determined to build a future for all.”
