NextGen America releases new poll of 18-29-year-olds in Virginia
Richmond, VA — Today, NextGen America released a new youth vote poll in partnership with Tulchin Research. The polling, first reported on Rachel Janfaza’s Substack The Up and Up, reveals young people’s deep economic anxiety, as well as their belief that politicians are more concerned with delivering for billionaires and special interests than everyday people.
The nationwide poll, which included a Virginia oversample, also reveals young Virginian’s feelings on the Virginia Governor’s race. The data shows candidate Abigail Spanberger is up with young voters as compared to her Republican counterpart, but is underperforming the generic ballot.
The poll surveyed 375 registered Virginian voters ages 18-29 and was conducted May 21-29, 2025. This poll is unique because it is solely focused on young voters. Where other polls represent this demographic as a single column on a crosstab – this poll has a higher statistical validity and more accurately represents young people and their current opinions.
