NextGen America Responds to DNC Autopsy Release

NextGen America Executive Director, Arianna Jones, released the following statement:

“Today’s DNC report is a starting point, not a verdict. What NextGen has heard from young people every day since November ‘24 tells us more than any autopsy: The institutions that rely on young people are not doing the work to listen, respond, and invest in them year-round.

“Kamala Harris underperforming with young voters wasn’t a turnout failure, it was an engagement failure. It was the result of treating an entire generation like an October resource to be tapped, instead of a year-round constituency. To win young voters in 2026 and beyond, we need to treat young people with respect. Organizers need to show up early and stay there.

“Winning the future requires investing in young people every day, between elections, not just during them.”
