NextGen PAC Responds to Election Results

In response to election results, NextGen America President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:

“Our work to educate, empower, and mobilize young people has always been about building a progressive movement that is larger than any single candidate or election year. Young people turned out this year, and a majority of these young people showed up for Vice President Harris and for a future that represents freedom, equity, and hope.

“Extremist MAGA Republicans do not represent our vision for the future. Young people believe in building a nation and economy that works for everyday people, not billionaires and corporations. We know Donald Trump and his loyalists only care about themselves – they don’t care about our rights, our futures, or our opportunities to live a prosperous life. Our work from here continues, and while this is not the outcome we hoped for, we are committed to building young voters’ power.

“Young people are the future of the progressive movement, and we won’t stop our work to protect our future. Today, we take care of our communities and ourselves. Tomorrow, we uplift our progressive champions in elected office, we organize, we protest, and we join our partners in holding MAGA extremists accountable.”

NextGen America’s team on the ground and online contacted millions of young people this cycle to educate and empower them to turn out for progressive causes and candidates. Down ballot, progressives had major victories that will propel our movement forward. Over 50 NextGen endorsed candidates and initiatives in Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia have won so far. These leaders include:
