Young PA Voters Elect Daniel McCaffery, Secure Major Democratic Victories

NextGen PAC mobilized thousands of young voters to propel progressive candidates to victory

Philadelphia, PA — Today, NextGen PAC celebrates the remarkable impact that young voters had on this year’s Pennsylvania elections. NextGen PAC, through tireless organizing efforts, successfully mobilized thousands of young voters to triumph over their Republican challengers.

Throughout this election cycle, NextGen contacted nearly one million eligible young voters in the state through online events, texts, and calls. This extensive outreach played a pivotal role in more than doubling the youth voter turnout in critical college campus precincts compared to the 2021 elections. The strategic touchpoints created by NextGen were instrumental in securing historic victories for progressive candidates and extending the Democratic success down the ballot across Pennsylvania.

NextGen PAC proudly announces the resounding success of Daniel McCaffery for Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Cherelle Parker for Philadelphia Mayor, Sara Innamorato for Allegheny County Executive, Jill Beck for Pennsylvania Superior Court, Timika Lane for Pennsylvania Superior Court, and Matt Wolf for Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court.

“Across Pennsylvania, young people showed up to elect progressive candidates this election,” NextGen PAC President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez said. “Perhaps the most important election this cycle was the state Supreme Court race, which had far-reaching consequences for abortion rights, climate action, and voting rights – and young people turned out to make sure our rights wouldn’t be eroded and diminished. Young Pennsylvanians seized their opportunity to shape the direction of the state and country, and turned out to fight for their future. As we look to 2024, this is just the start of what young voters are able to accomplish when we use our collective power for progressive change.”

As the future of Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court hung in the balance, young people showed up to protect voting rights, abortion rights, and climate justice. Overall, young voters turned out to power Democrats down ballot to victory, proving that young Pennsylvanians will continue to fight against extremist MAGA Republicans.

Leading up to 2024, NextGen PAC is determined to utilize this momentum and grow our youth-led movement for change. As the next major cycle approaches, NextGen PAC is focused on empowering young voters to fight for a better future, this includes endorsing progressive candidates and ballot measures, among other activities.
