Young People Have Had Enough of Corrupt Supreme Court Justices

Following the United States Supreme Court end of term, NextGen America Executive Director, Arianna Jones, released the following statement:

“This week, the billionaire-backed justices on the Supreme Court wrapped up another dangerous and consequential term – and young people are angry. Whether gutting what remained of the Voting Rights Act, banning trans youth from school sports, or tearing down the limits on what political parties can spend in coordination with candidates, the Robert’s Court is on a coordinated and deliberate mission to roll back our rights and hand the levers of government to billionaires and their allies.

“Young people want an economy that works, a government that’s honest, and a democracy that delivers on the promise of true representation. They want politicians that are actually accountable to them, not corporations and elites.

“Despite every attempt to silence and scare them, young people remain committed to building a more representative democracy. They are organizing and mobilizing their communities, and as the midterms approach, they are prepared to show up and use their power to hold those in power accountable. When students start heading back to college campuses in August, NextGen will be making sure they have the resources they need to show up, vote, and fight for a democracy that works for everyone.”
