Young People React to SEIU Joining AFL-CIO

In response to SEIU’s two million service and care workers joining the nation’s largest labor federation AFL-CIO, NextGen America President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:

“Young voters celebrate the merger of two powerful labor groups SEIU and AFL-CIO. With Trump’s billionaire cabinet just weeks away from being sworn-in, it is essential that we unite worker power and fight back against his anti-worker agenda. Young people overwhelmingly support unions, and NextGen America stands in solidarity with our partners SEIU and AFL-CIO.

“As CEOs and billionaires continue to bend the knee to Trump before he’s even officially President, it is essential that working people stand in solidarity to fight corporate greed and hold power to account. Young people are organizing to build a stronger economy, a liveable future, and to protect our planet, and unions are a fierce ally in our pursuit of a more just and equitable future.”
