Young People Respond to Governor Walz’ Message of Hope and Empowerment in Vice Presidential Debate

In response to last night’s vice presidential debate, NextGen PAC Vice President of Communications, Antonio Arellano, issued the following statement:

“Tonight, Governor Walz outlined Kamala Harris’ plan for a new way forward, one that builds up the middle class and protects our freedoms, showcasing a vision for America rooted in equality and opportunity. Throughout the debate, Walz emphasized the critical need to protect reproductive rights, invest in climate jobs and infrastructure, and build a fair economy that centers everyday people over billionaires.

“In stark contrast, JD Vance made excuses for Donald Trump and his extremist Project 2025 agenda, a plan that promises to strip away our basic rights and benefit wealthy corporations. Vance’s blatant disregard of the urgent climate crisis, refusal to enact common-sense gun laws, and continued denial of the results of the 2020 presidential election demonstrate a disturbing pattern of ignoring facts in favor of personal interest and greed.

“America faces a clear choice in this election. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have a plan to empower families and communities through actionable policies, while Donald Trump and JD Vance only wish to stoke fear and repeal the historic progress we have made on healthcare, climate change, and the economy. JD Vance admitted to telling lies, and we won’t be fooled into thinking he suddenly cares about our rights, our families, our daily lives, or our future.”
