Young Texans React to Justice Department’s Conclusion in 2022 Uvalde Shooting

In response to the Justice Department finding ‘significant failure’ in Uvalde Police response, NextGen America President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:

“It’s crucial that we address these systemic failures to ensure the safety of our communities and prevent such tragedies from happening in the future. It is now clear that our State and congressional representatives failed the children and teachers in Robb Elementary School.

“We deserve to be safe in our communities and the time for comprehensive gun reform is now. Young voters overwhelmingly support universal background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons, and repealing gun industry immunity. We must act decisively to implement meaningful gun reform and forge a safer tomorrow.”
