NextGen PAC mobilized thousands of young voters to elect progressive candidates
Phoenix, AZ – Despite losses at the top of the ticket, NextGen PAC extends congratulations to Rueben Gallego on his historic election to the Senate and celebrates the passing of Arizona Proposition 139 and the rejection of Arizona Proposition 133. NextGen PAC endorsed Gallego, supported Prop 139, and stood against Prop 133 earlier this year based on key issues for young voters as an important part of ensuring that Arizona remains just, equitable, and democratic for the future. NextGen PAC applauds Gallego’s continued commitment to climate action, protecting abortion access and care, and fighting for economic equality for all Arizonans.
“NextGen PAC congratulates Rueben Gallego on his election to the Senate and celebrates Arizona’s decision to pass Proposition 139 and reject Proposition 133,” NextGen PAC President and Executive Director Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez said. “As the largest, most diverse generation in American history, we are committed to creating a future that reflects us, represents us, and respects us, and Arizona is a critical state in our fight for this future. With Rueben Gallego, Arizona’s first latino senator, in the Senate and the right to abortion protected in the state’s constitution, young Arizonans showed up for their rights, their communities, and elected a proven leader who believes in our movement for change.”
To help elect progressive leaders in Arizona, NextGen PAC engaged organizers in communities and on campuses across the state to ensure young people are ready to turn out for Democrats up and down-the-ballot this election cycle.
