Young Voters Respond to Michigan Repealing Right-to-Work Law

In response to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer officially repealing Michigan’s right-to-work law, NextGen America President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez released the following statement:

“When young Michigan voters voted progressive, pro-worker majorities into the legislature last election, they communicated clearly the type of future they wanted to see for their state – today, that future becomes a reality.

“Working people are the backbone of Michigan’s economy, and we celebrate today’s massive victory for organized labor and for working-class people. Repealing this law will expand workers’ rights, ultimately helping to keep workers safe, restore workers’ freedom on the job, raise wages, and create a stronger economy. This action puts democracy back in the workplace and represents the power of our collective voice to create change when we turnout for leaders who represent our values.”
