Tell Congress: Protect Black lives from police violence

In the wake of the senseless murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Dreasjon “Sean” Reed, Tony McDade, Daniel Prude, David McAtee, Rayshard Brooks, Daunte Wright, Ma’Khia Bryant, and too many others, we must take action to reduce police budgets and reinvest that money in Black communities.

Weapons of war should never be used to police our communities. A militarized police force only serves to terrorize our communities and fails to make us any safer. Black lives matter, and it’s time our government starts acting like it.

Justice requires the end of militarized, state-sanctioned violence. Justice requires investments toward health, housing, and care in Black communities. And pursuing justice must not be a responsibility that rests on Black shoulders alone.

Nothing we do today can reverse the tragic losses of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Dreasjon “Sean” Reed, Tony McDade, David McAtee, Rayshard Brooks, Daunte Wright, Ma’Khia Bryant, and too many others murdered by state violence. What we can do is fight until there are no more lives lost.

Write to your members of Congress and urge them to do all in their power to protect Black lives from police violence.
