Climate change is real, it’s here, and it’s the most urgent threat facing our planet today.
Every region of the United States has been impacted by the climate crisis. We’ve seen climate catastrophes wreak havoc across the country, from devastating tornadoes to extreme heat and cold to wildfires that wipe out our communities. Climate disaster is already at our doorstep, and it will permanently damage our Earth if we let it go unchecked.
In the summer of 2022, Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act, the most significant piece of climate legislation in U.S. history. We fought alongside a powerful, multi-generational coalition to demand climate action and relief for working families.
But we know that this is only the beginning, and more must be done to meet the needs of frontline communities and working families, and ensure a livable future for generations to come. Young people, and especially young people of color, will be hit hardest by the impacts of climate change if we don’t take action.
When it comes to climate change, the biggest obstacles we face aren’t scientific, but political. Too many of our elected officials won’t prioritize bold climate action. That’s why we need to push our members of Congress to invest in climate action that will prioritize clean energy, green jobs, climate-resilient affordable housing, and environmental justice.
