To register to vote in Arizona you must meet the following qualifications:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Be a citizen of the United States of America</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Be a resident of Arizona and the county listed on your registration</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Be 18 years of age on or before the day of the next regular General Election</li>
</ul>

To vote in Arizona, you must first register to vote at least 29 days before the election. You can register: 
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Online</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">By mail</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">In person</li>
</ul>

By Mail – You can either <a href="https://azsos.gov/sites/default/files/docs/az_voter_registration_form_standard_20240613.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">print a form online</a> or request that a registration form be mailed to you from your <a href="https://azsos.gov/elections/about-elections/county-election-officials-contact-information" target="_blank" rel="noopener">County Recorder</a>. After completing the voter registration form, mail it to your county recorder’s office.
In-Person – You may visit your <a href="https://azsos.gov/county-election-info" target="_blank" rel="noopener">County Recorder’s Office</a> and fill out a registration form in person.

Online – If you have an Arizona Driver License and/or an Arizona non-operating I.D. card issued by the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) you may <a href="https://servicearizona.com/VoterRegistration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">register to vote online here</a>.

No. To vote in Arizona, you must first register to vote at least 29 days before the election.

You must be a resident of Arizona for at least 29 days before the election to vote.
A new law requires Arizona voters to provide proof of residency. An Arizona driver’s license or state ID number issued after October 1, 1996 will satisfy the requirement. A complete list of acceptable documents can be found on pages 1-2 of the <a href="https://azsos.gov/sites/default/files/docs/SOS_Citizen_Engagement_Manual_FINAL_20240416_.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Arizona Citizen Engagement Manual</a>.

Yes. Arizona’s voter registration form asks for your: 
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Arizona driver’s license number</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">State ID number</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The last four digits of your Social Security number, a tribal ID number, or an alien registration, naturalization certificate, or citizenship certificate number. </li>
</ul>

Arizona requires proof of citizenship for registering to vote in state and local elections. Providing an Arizona driver’s license or state ID number issued after October 1, 1996, on either the state or federal voter registration form, fulfills the proof of citizenship requirement. You do not need to provide anything more, unless your license or state identification card was issued to you before you became a U.S. citizen. Other documents that can prove proof of citizenship found below:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A photocopy of a U.S. birth certificate and supporting legal documentation (i.e. marriage certificate) if your name has changed;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A photocopy of the identification pages of your passport;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A photocopy of naturalization documents or your Alien Registration Number, Naturalization Certificate Number, or Citizenship Certificate Number;</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Indian Census Number, Bureau of Indian Affairs Card Number, Tribal Treaty Card Number, or Tribal Enrollment Number; or</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A photocopy of your Tribal Certificate of Indian Blood or Tribal or Bureau of Indian Affairs Affidavit of Birth.</li>
</ul>
Voters who are otherwise eligible but don’t provide proof of citizenship may vote a federal-only ballot.

You cannot register to vote in Arizona if:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">You have been convicted of a felony and have not yet had your civil rights restored. For a first-time single felony conviction, civil rights are automatically restored upon completion of a person&#8217;s sentence and payment of any restitution.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">You have been adjudicated incapacitated by a court of law.</li>
</ul>

Students have a decision about where to register to vote.
You have a right to register to vote at the address you consider the place where you live, whether that is your family&#8217;s home or the place where you attend school. You should update your registration anytime this home address changes.

Voter Registration 

All voters must present ID at the polls. Voters have 3 options. They can present: 
<ol>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">One form of ID which bears the name, address, and photo of the voter as they appear in the voter&#8217;s record (List 1); </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Two forms of non–photo ID which bear the name and address of the voter as they appear on the voter&#8217;s record (List 2); </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Or a List 1 photo ID  with a non–matching address plus a List 2 non-photo ID with a matching  address; or a U.S. passport or military ID without any address plus a List 2 non–photo ID with a matching address (List 3).</li>
</ol>
List 1: Acceptable forms of photo ID include: Arizona driver’s license or identification card; tribal identification or enrollment card; or other valid U.S. federal, state, or local government–issued identification.
List 2: Acceptable forms of non–photo ID  include: a voter registration card; a utility (including cell phone) bill; bank or credit union statement; Arizona vehicle registration; Arizona vehicle insurance card; Indian census card; property tax  statement; county recorder’s certificate; tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal ID; other valid U.S. federal, state, or local government–issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the County Recorder; and any mail addressed to the voter  marked “Official Election Material.”
College or university IDs that lack addresses cannot be used as voter ID, even if the voter has a separate document that shows their address.

A voter may cast their ballot at an early voting location from October 9 through November 1. 
Early voting hours and days vary by county. <a href="https://azsos.gov/county-election-info" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Contact your County Recorder</a> for specific information.

For early voting, you should vote at an in-person early voting location in your county. <a href="https://azsos.gov/elections/about-elections/county-election-officials-contact-information" target="_blank" rel="noopener">See your county’s website</a> for more information.
Counties may conduct Election Day voting using one of two types of voting locations: 
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Polling places: voters in a particular precinct are required to vote at a polling place specifically designated for that precinct; or </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Vote centers: voters are permitted to vote at any vote center within the county, regardless of which precinct the voter lives in. </li>
</ul>
At least twenty days before the election, the county board will designate polling locations. Find your Election Day voting location <a href="https://my.arizona.vote/PortalList.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a>.

On Election Day, voting sites will be open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters can locate their Election Day polling place at: <a href="http://my.arizona.vote/PortalList.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">my.arizona.vote/PortalList.aspx</a>.

All polling locations and vote centers have been chosen with voters with special needs in mind. Each location will provide handicap parking and be able to accommodate individuals in wheelchairs, as well as individuals with visual or hearing limitations. Often a temporary modification will be made to the polling location providing easier accessibility for the voter.

In-Person Voting

Any registered Arizona voter can request an absentee ballot.

Voters can request a mail ballot by submitting a form online or in writing, or by calling or emailing their County Recorder&#8217;s office. For more information, visit: <a href="http://azsos.gov/votebymail" target="_blank" rel="noopener">azsos.gov/votebymail</a>.

Follow the instructions on your ballot carefully.

You have two options for returning your ballot-by-mail:
<ol>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Mail back your ballot: Use the pre-paid envelope included in your ballot-by-mail package. For the November General Election, we recommend mailing it 7 days before Election Day to ensure it reaches your county election officials on time.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Drop off your ballot: You may drop off your ballot at any ballot drop-box, drop-off location, early voting location, or Election Day voting location in your county on or before Election Day. Find all voting and drop off locations on your county’s website. Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.</li>
</ol>
You may track the status of your ballot at <a href="http://my.arizona.vote" target="_blank" rel="noopener">My.Arizona.Vote</a> to confirm that it was received and counted.

A person may only handle or return their own ballot or the ballot of family members, household members or persons for whom they are a caregiver.

Mail back your ballot: It is recommended to mail the ballot 7 day before Election Day to ensure it reaches your county election officials on time.
Drop off your ballot: You may drop off your ballot at any ballot drop-box, drop-off location, early voting location, or Election Day voting location in your county on or before Election Day. Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

If you requested a mail ballot but now want to vote early in person, you will be able to do so if you have not already returned your ballot. You will vote via a provisional ballot.
